New life
It is essential to produce and consume as fairly as possible.
But we also have to close the loop. Make sure that everything we produce can have another use, a second life
At Tape à l'oeil, we are just taking our first steps and we will continue to improve.
To take your first steps with us, discover our repair tutorials and our TAO second-hand clothing buying/selling platform !
Give our Tape à l'Oeil collections a new lease of life!
Our children are growing up fast (too fast!) and most of their clothes are still in perfect condition.
So, together with our customers, we have co-constructed a brand new service: the TAO NEWLIFE second-hand platform.
Tape à l'Oeil customers can use this platform to make room in their children's wardrobes by selling their Tape à l'Oeil products second-hand.
It's also an opportunity to have fun and to find and buy gems at reduced prices.
A different way to consume, more sustainable and responsible. Pass on your Tape à l'Oeil collections and give them a second lease of life!
Products to make our clothes last
Taking care of your clothes also means thinking about prolonging their lifespan when they are damaged, holed or stained:

- Whether you stick them on or apply them with an iron, badges and crests offer an easy way to hide stains or holes so you can keep wearing them!
A way of giving your favourite products a second lease of life!

PERSONALISE A GARMENT AND MAKE IT UNIQUE
"Have any of your child's clothes been lurking, unworn, at the back of the wardrobe for a while? Add a new twist with badges and patches and bring a little something that will make them unique and make your child want to wear them again!
Stick-on or iron-on, badges and patches are an easy way to hide stains and holes, or simply use them for personalising a piece of clothing or accessory."
We collect and we recycle
Taking good care of your child's clothes will ensure that they last longer.
And washing less but better is also taking care of our planet.
So we, here at Tape à l'Oeil, would like to share a few care tips with you, along with some washing advice and grandmother's little remedies.
GIVE A SECOND LIFE TO OUR SAMPLES
All the samples of clothes we work with to create the collections, and which are still in good condition, are given to organisations or resold to Tape à l'Oeil collaborators. Those that are damaged or holed are collected for recycling.
MENDING A PAIR OF JEANS WITH A HOLE IN THEM
From crawling for miles, diving to catch a ball, falling off a bike or climbing trees, our kids' jeans live through a thousand adventures! And sometimes their favourite jeans get a hole in the knee. Before getting rid of them for good or cutting them into shorts (which in itself is an idea!), discover a simple tutorial by Caroline from the "Maison des Makers" to give jeans with holes in them a second chance, and transform them into "Monster Jeans".
CAN'T GET RID OF A STAIN? WE HAVE THE ANSWER
Can't get a stain out of your child's favourite garment despite our grandmothers' tips? Don't panic! We have the answer.
Provide yourself with some fabric paint.
Use a pad or sponge and cover the stain.
Then, take the opportunity to make nice patterns on the rest of the garment.
Iron the product with an iron to fix the paint and make it resistant to future washes.
A way to give new life to a garment... that then becomes personalised and unique!
MY ZIPPER'S STUCK!
Zippers in coats don't lead an easy life. Pulled in all directions several times a day, even the sturdiest zips can sometimes fail and get jammed.
So instead of getting rid of a coat, here's a little tip to help you fix it.
To loosen a zipper, the idea is that you lubricate the slider.
Rub the lead of a pencil where the zip is stuck. If this does not work, apply a little olive oil or rub a bar of soap or a candle directly on the zip.
And there you are! The zipper's good as new.
Every little helps, and at home too
Taking good care of your child's clothes will ensure that they last longer.
And washing less but better is also taking care of our planet.
So we, here at Tape à l'Oeil, would like to share a few care tips with you, along with some washing advice and grandmother's little remedies.
Share your small eco-gestures
Because every one of us knows some good and simple tips that can make our daily life more responsible, we decided at Tape à l'Oeil to share them among our employees. We have already organised several workshops during our lunch breaks to learn how to make bags for our unpackaged shopping from scraps of fabric or to make our laundry more eco-friendly.
